According to DAILY POST, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has expressed a desire to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump to discuss a potential agreement that would grant the U.S. access to Ukraine’s minerals and rare earth elements prior to any discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
During a press conference in Kyiv on Sunday, Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of dialogue to address Ukraine’s security issues, stating that a meeting is essential for reaching a fair agreement before Trump engages with Putin.“we need to meet and talk about it.“I think that this meeting should be fair, which means before Trump meets Putin,” Zelensky said.This statement follows Trump’s recent remarks, where he pledged to recover the financial support the U.S. has provided to Ukraine amid the ongoing conflict with Russia.
Trump indicated that the U.S. is looking to secure these funds through Ukraine’s mineral resources and oil.At the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) near Washington, Trump mentioned his intention to reclaim or secure the money invested in Ukraine, underscoring the need for Ukraine to offer something in return for the financial assistance provided.Meanwhile, Zelenskyy reported that Russia executed an overnight assault involving over 200 drones, marking the largest such attack in the ongoing conflict between the two nations.Zelenskyy denounced what he termed Russia’s “aerial terror” and urged solidarity among Ukraine’s allies.
He shared this information through a series of posts on his X account on Sunday.He highlighted that, as the third anniversary of the war approaches, Russia had launched 267 attack drones, the most extensive assault since Iranian drones began targeting Ukrainian locations.In total, he noted that approximately 1,150 attack drones, over 1,400 guided aerial bombs, and 35 missiles of various types were deployed during the week.
